s1 2 s4 Electricity Amendment (No. 5) No. 169, 1999 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Electricity Amendment Regulation (No. 5) 1999 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Electricity Regulation 1994 . ˙ Amendment of s 157A (Operation of electricity line beyond person’s property—Act, s 227) 3.(1) Section 157A, heading, ‘ electricity ’— omit, insert — ‘ electric ’. (2) Section 157A— insert— ‘ (2) The regulator may approve the operation of the line only if satisfied— (a) the person has consulted with each person ( “affected person” ) whose interests may be affected by its operation; and (b) each affected person has stated in writing they have no objection to its operation; and (c) its installation and operation will comply with the safety requirements under the Act.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 5 (Appeals against administrative decisions to Magistrates Court) 4. Schedule 5— insert— ‘157A(2) Refusal by the regulator to approve the operation of an electric line beyond a person’s property’.
