s1 2 s4 Electricity Amendment (No. 3) No. 253, 1996 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Electricity Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 1996 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Electricity Regulation 1994 . ˙ Amendment of s 46 (Qualifications of electrical jointer) 3. Section 46(2)(d)— omit, insert— ‘(d) produced a certificate from an electrical engineer or a licensed electrical jointer that— (i) the applicant has had experience for 300 hours, or a shorter period the board considers sufficient in the circumstances, in jointing and terminating cables that are not energised; and (ii) in the reasonable opinion of the engineer or jointer, the person can and will perform an electrical jointer’s work in a safe and workmanlike manner; and’. ˙ Amendment of s 47 (Qualifications of electrical linesperson) 4. Section 47(2)(d)— omit, insert— ‘(d) must have produced a certificate from an electrical engineer or a licensed electrical linesperson that— (i) the applicant has had experience for 300 hours, or a shorter period the board considers sufficient in the circumstances, working up a pole on dead line work; and (ii) in the reasonable opinion of the engineer or linesperson, the person can and will perform an electrical linesperson’s work in a safe and workmanlike manner; and’.

Section 52(3)— omit, insert— ‘ (3) In deciding whether the person is a suitable person to hold the licence, the board may only consider— (a) the standard of honesty and integrity demonstrated by the person in commercial and other activities in which the person has been involved; and (b) any failure by the person to perform commercial or statutory obligations and the reasons for the failure.’.
