Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

An Ordinance to amend the Electricity Ordinance 1971

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Electricity (Amendment) Ordinance

1982.1

Felling, &c , of trees, &c, interfering with power lines

2. Section 33 of the Electricity	Ordinance 19712 is amended—
(a)	by inserting after sub-section (1) the following sub-section:

" ( lA) A notice under sub-section (1) may be served on a person personally or by post addressed to the person at his address last known to the Authority.";

Authority for the purposes of this section.

(b)	by omitting from sub-section (2B) "the Authority may, by its employees," and substituting "a person authorized by the Authority for the purposes of this section may";
(c)	by omitting from sub-section (3) "the Authority, by its employees," and "incurred by it in so doing" and substituting "a person authorized by the Authority" and "thereby incurred by the Authority", respectively; and
(d)	by inserting after sub-section (3A) the following sub-sections:

"(3B) A person who enters upon a parcel of land in pursuance of sub-section (2B) is not authorized to remain on the land if, on the request of the occupier of the land, he does not produce a certificate in writing under the hand of the Chairman that he is authorized by the

"(3C) A person who, without reasonable excuse, obstructs a person authorized by the Authority for the purposes of this section in the exercise of his powers under this section is guilty of an offence punishable, on conviction, by a fine not exceeding $200.".
