EXPLANATORY NOTE
The purpose of this Regulation is to update the Schedule of electrical articles in the Electrical Articles Regulation 1985, in keeping with an Order by the Governor
updating the list of articles to which Part 4C of the Electricity Act 1945 applies.
Part 4C of the Act requires the electrical articles to which it applies to be
approved for sale in New South Wales and to meet certain requirements. The
Regulation provides the procedure for testing and approving those articles, the fees
for testing etc. The procedure and the fees are related to the particular category of article, and the Schedule not only lists the articles but divides them into 3 categories for that purpose.
