ELECTRICITY ACT 1945—REGULATION

(Relating to the boundary between NorthPower Energy and MetNorth Energy)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Electricity Act 1945, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 22 December 1995.

Amendment

2. The Electricity (Amalgamation of Electricity Distributors)

Regulation 1995 is amended:

(a) by inserting after clause 5 the following clause: Distribution district of MetNorth Energy

5A. The art of Merriwa referred to in the description of MetNorth’s distribution district in Schedule 7 to the Act is such part of Merriwa as was within the distribution district of Shortland Electricity, as it was immediately before the date of amalgamation.

(b) by omitting clause 7 ( 1).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to make provision consequent on part of a local government area having ceased to be within the distribution district of NorthPower Energy and having become within the distribution district of MetNorth Energy.

This Regulation is made under the Electricity Act 1945, including section 37 (the

general regulation making power) and section 6.
