ELECTRICITY ACT 1945—REGULATION

(Relating to minimum safe working distances for working on live high

voltage overhead lines)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Electricity Act 1945, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 22nd March, 1993.

Amendment

2. The Electricity (Workers’ Safety) Regulation 1992 is amended by

omitting from clause 52 (1) (d) the following matter:

Up to 22 000......................................................................... 300

above 22 000 but not exceeding 33 000............................. 400

and by inserting instead the following matter:

up to 33 000 ...................................................................... 500

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Electricity (Workers’ Safety)

Regulation 1992 to increase the minimum safe working distance which is required to be observed when working on live high voltage overhead lines of up to 33 000 volts.

This Regulation is made under the Electricity Act 1945, including section 37

(2) (1).
