ELECTRICITY ACT 1945—REGULATION

(Relating to electrical articles and fees)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,
and in pursuance of the Electricity Act 1945, has been pleased to make

the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 December 1993.

Amendments

2. The Electrical Articles Regulation 1985 is amended:

(a)

by inserting in Category 1 to Schedule 1 after the words “Fluorescent lamp ballast” the following words:

Fluorescent lamp starter

(b)

by inserting in Category 3 to Schedule 1 after the words “Supply flexible cord” the following words:

Swimming pool or spa equipment

by omitting Schedule 2 and by inserting instead the following Schedule:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purposes of this Regulation are:

(a)

to update Schedule 1 to the Electrical Articles Regulation 1985 (which divides electrical articles into 3 categories for such purposes as the determination of fees), by including fluorescent lamp starter in Category 1 of that Schedule and swimming pool or spa equipment in Category 3 of that Schedule; and

(b)

to increase certain fees under Schedule 2 to that Regulation and, in particular, to provide that the application fees for the modification of an electrical article, and for an endorsement of a variation on a certificate of suitability, will depend on the number of modifications or variations contained in the application.

This Regulation is made under the Electricity Act 1945, including section 37 (in

particular, section 37 (2) (z)).
