ELECTRICITY ACT 1945—ORDER

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, PATRICK CARL SCULLY, Acting Minister for Energy, make the following Order under section 6A (2) of the Electricity Act 1945.

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Electricity (Amalgamation of Electricity Distributors) Order 1996.

Commencement

2. This Order commences on 29 February 1996.

Transfer of staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Illawarra Electricity

3. (1) All staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Illawarra Electricity, other than those transferred in accordance with the Electricity (Amalgamation of Electricity Distributors) Order 1995, are transferred to MetSouth Energy, except as provided by subclause (2).

(2) All staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Illawarra Electricity that are identified for transfer to Energy South in the document entitled “Schedule of Staff, Assets, Rights and Liabilities of Illawarra Electricity for Transfer to Energy South” signed by the Acting Minister €or Energy and dated 29 February 1996, are transferred to Energy South.

Transfer of staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Murray River
Electricity

4. (1) All staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Murray River Electricity, other than those transferred in accordance with the Electricity (Amalgamation of Electricity Distributors) Order 1 995, are transferred to Energy South, except as provided by subclause (2).

(2) All staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Murray River Electricity that are identified for transfer to Far West Energy in the document entitled “Schedule of Staff, Assets, Rights and Liabilities of Murray River Electricity for Transfer to Far West Energy” signed by the Acting Minister for Energy and dated 29 February 1996, are transferred to Far West Energy.

Transfer of staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Prospect Electricity

5. All staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Prospect Electricity, other than those transferred in accordance with the Electricity (Amalgamation of Electricity Distributors) Order 1995, are transferred to MetSouth Energy.

Transfer of staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Shortland Electricity

6. (1) All staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Shortland Electricity, other than those transferred in accordance with the Electricity (Amalgamation of Electricity Distributors) Order 1995, are transferred to MetNorth Energy, except as provided by subclause (2).

(2) All staff, assets, rights and liabilities of Shortland Electricity that are identified for transfer to NorthPower Energy in the document entitled “Schedule of Staff, Assets, Rights and Liabilities of Shortland Electricity for Transfer to NorthPower Energy” signed by the Acting Minister for Energy and dated 29 February 1996, are transferred to NorthPower Energy.
