562 (QualtSIUit ANNO SEXTO DECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 55 of 1967 An Act to Amend " The Electric Light and Power Acts, 1896 to 1965 ," in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 22ND DECEMBER, 1967] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same , as follows:- 1. (I) Short title . This Act may be cited as " The Electric Light and Power Acts Amendment Act of 1967." (2) Principal Act. " The Electric Light and Power Acts, 1896 to 1965," are herein referred to as the Principal Act. (3) Collective title. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as " The Electric Light and Poiver Acts, 1896 to 1967." 2. Amendment of s. 11 . Section eleven of the Principal Act is amended by adding the following paragraph:- " Notwithstanding any provision of "The Regional Electric Authorities Acts, 1945 to 1964," or " The Local Government Acts, 1936 to 1967," or any other Act or law it is hereby declared that- (a) any Order in Council made by the Governor in Council prescribing as a condition, limitation or restriction under which the supply of electricity is to be permissive that the Electric
Electric Light and Power Acts Amendment Act of 1967, No. 55 563 Authority may require a person making a requisition on the Electric Authority for it to supply electricity to that person either alone or with others to deposit with the Electric Authority, subject to the conditions , limitations and restrictions set out in the Order in Council , a sum or sums of money for any one or more of the following purposes , namely by way of security or guarantee in connection with the supply of the electricity, or for use by the Electric Authority in connection with the supply of the electricity; (b) any requisition or deposit as aforesaid or agreement made in pursuance of any such Order in Council; and (c) any agreement made before the passing of " The Electric Light and Power Acts Amendment Act of 1967," between the Electric Authority and any person or persons who have requisitioned for the supply of electricity by the Electric Authority to him or them and pursuant to which agreement he or they have deposited a sum or sums of money for a specified period or specified periods in connection with the supply of electricity to him or them on terms providing for the payment of interest and the repayment of such sum or sums, shall be and shall have been always lawful and valid."
