Electoral Rolls (Amendment) Regulations 1996

The Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the
Electoral Commissioner, makes the following Regulations:

1. Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are to— (a) substitute the definition of "Registrar"; (b) amend the forms for the roll of electors; and

(c)

prescribe the form for enrolment or transfer of enrolment of an elector.

2. Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 84 and
143 of The Constitution Act Amendment Act

1958.

3. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations the 1Electoral Rolls Regulations 1988 are called the Principal Regulations.

4. Definition of Registrar substituted

In Regulation 5(1) of the Principal Regulations,
for the definition of "Registrar" substitute—

' "Registrar" means the electoral registrar

appointed by the Electoral Commissioner

pursuant to section 109 of the Act.'.

5. Electoral Roll

In Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations, sub-regulation (3) is revoked.

6. Amendments to Schedule

In the Schedule to the Principal Regulations—

(a)

in Form A, delete "*Signifies that the person purposes";

(b)

in Form B, delete "*Signifies that the person concerned is not enrolled for State purposes"; and

(c) for Form C, substitute—
