  1. Commencement

    These regulations commence on the day they are notified in the Gazette.

  2. Regulations amended

    These regulations amend the Electoral Regulations.

  3. Heading, pt 1

    The heading to Part 1 is omitted.

  4. Substitution

    Regulation 1 is repealed and the following regulation substituted:

1 Name of regulations

These regulations are the Electoral Regulations 1993.”.

  1. Insertion

    After regulation 3 insert the following regulation:

4 Use of roll information for cancer register

(1)    For section 65 (Provision of roll information to prescribed authorities) of the Act—

(a)the chief health officer is a prescribed authority; and

(b)assisting the chief health officer to maintain the cancer register under regulation 46 of the Public Health Regulations 2000 is a prescribed purpose.

(2)    The chief health officer may give roll information to another person or entity if the only use of the information authorised by the chief health officer is to assist the chief health officer to maintain the cancer register.

(3)    A person or entity given roll information by the chief health officer may only use the information to assist the chief health officer to maintain the cancer register.

(4)    In this regulation:

roll information means a copy of a roll or of information contained on a roll.”.
