I, the Governor, acting under section 2 (2) of the Electoral Legislation Amendment Act 1996, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, fix the day after the day on which this proclamation is published in the Government Gazette as the day on which Parts 2, 4 and 5 of that Act come into operation.
