834 Electoral Districts Act Amendment Act 1985, No. 50 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short Title. This Act may be cited as the Electoral Districts Act Amendment Act 1985. 2. Principal Act and citation as amended . (1) In this Act, the Electoral Districts Act 1985 is referred to as the Principal Act. (2) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Electoral Districts Act 1985 which citation shall, on and from the date this Act (other than section 3 (1)) commences, be taken to refer to the Principal Act as amended by this Act unless the contrary intention appears. 3. Amendment of Schedule . (1) The Schedule to the Principal Act is amended by, in Part I thereof, omitting the word "Somerset" occurring in paragraph (c) (i) and substituting the word "Lockyer". (2) Subsection (1) shall be deemed to have commenced on 19 April 1985 and shall have retrospective effect accordingly. (3) Any act or thing purporting to have been done in accordance with the Principal Act prior to the date this Act commences shall be taken to have been validly and correctly done if it was done in accordance with the Principal Act as amended by this section. 4. Construction of provision w ith respect to lodgment of suggestions. Subsection (2) of section 12 of the Electoral Districts Act 1985 shall be construed, so far as the South-Eastern Zone and the Country Zone referred to in section 5 of the said Act are concerned, so that a reference in that subsection to one calendar month after the date of the appointment of the Commissioners under and for the purposes of Part III of the said Act shall be read as a reference to one calendar month after the date this Act (other than section 3 (1)) commences.
