part I—preliminary

Short title

1.  This Act may be cited as the Electoral (Application) Act 1996.1

Commencement

2.  This Act commences on the day on which it is notified in the Gazette.

Application of section 230 of Electoral Act 1992

3.  For the financial year that ended on 30 June 1996, section 230 of the Electoral Act 1992 applies as if subsection (1) were replaced by the following subsection:

“(1)  Subject to section 231, the reporting agent of a party or an independent MLA shall, not later than 17 December 1996, give the Commissioner a return in the approved form.”.

NOTE
