Electoral and Referendum Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 and the Referendum (Constitution Alteration) Act 1906.

The Electoral and Referendum Regulations are amended by inserting after regulation 85 the following regulation:

Collection of statistical information

“86. All ballot-papers, certified lists of voters, certified copies of the Roll, forms of declaration and postal vote certificates used at an election or referendum may, at any time after the election or referendum can no longer be questioned, be dealt with as necessary for the purposes of collecting statistical information in relation to the election or referendum.”.
