ELECTION OF SENATORS

AMENDMENT ACT

No. 6 of 1989

AN ACT to amend the Election of Senators Act 1903.

[Assented to 23 October 1989]

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Election of Senators Amendment Act

1989.

Commencement

2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives

the Royal Assent.

Principal Act

3. In this Act the Election of Senators Act 1903* is referred to as the

principal Act.

Section 3 amended

4.     Section 3 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (6) by

deleting "90" and substituting the following-

" 100 ".

Section 8 amended

5.     Section 8 of the principal Act is amended by deleting "Within 20

days before" and substituting the following-

" Before ".
