ELICOS Standards

I, Chris Evans, Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations, make the attached ELICOS Standards under subsection 176B(1) of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000.

Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000

ELICOS Standards

1.                CITATION

This legislative instrument may be cited as the ELICOS Standards.

2.                AUTHORITY

The ELICOS Standards are made under subsection 176B(1) of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act2000 (the ESOS Act).

3.                DATE OF EFFECT

The ELICOS Standards take effect on the commencement of item 7 of the table in subsection 2(1) of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Consequential Amendments) Act 2011.

4.                ELICOS STANDARDS

(a) For subsection 176B(1) of the ESOS Act, the document known as the National Standards for ELICOS Providers and Courses is the ELICOS Standards.

(a) In accordance with paragraph 176B(2)(b) of the ESOS Act, the document known as the National Standards for ELICOS Providers and Courses is incorporated into the ELICOS Standards as it exists from time to time.

Note 1  The document, National Standards for ELICOS Providers and Courses will be made available on the Australian Education International website at Refer Attachment F for the ELICOS Standards.

Note 2  ELICOS means English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students.
