NEW SOUTH WALES

[Published in Gazette No. 106 of 12 July 1991]
(L.S.) P. R. SINCLAIR, Governor.

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 21 (3) of the Education Reform Act 1990, do, by this my Proclamation, notify 1st February, 1992, as the date for the purposes of that subsection.

Signed and sealed at Sydney, this 3rd day of July, 1991.

By His Excellency’s Command,

VIRGINIA CHADWICK

Minister for School Education and Youth Affairs.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 21 of the Education Reform Act 1990 empowers the Minister to provide financial assistance to non-government schools by way of per capita grants. The amount of assistance is to be calculated so that the average per capita grant for children attending non-government schools is a percentage of the average per capita cost to the State of educating children at government schools (as assessed by the Minister). Subsection (3) of that section provides that on and from a date notified by proclamation for the purposes of that subsection, that percentage is to be 25 per cent.

The object of this Proclamation is to proclaim the date on and from which that percentage is to be 25 per cent.
