Part 2 Amendment of Education (Queensland Studies Authority) Regulation 2002 2 Regulation amended in pt 2 This part amends the Education(QueenslandStudiesAuthority) Regulation 2002. 3 Amendment of s 3AA (Meaning of contributing studies for QCE) (1) Section 3AA(1)(a), ‘authority’— omit, insert— ‘approved’ . (2) Section 3AA(1)(b) and (c)— omit . (3) Section 3AA(1)(d) to (j)— renumber as section 3AA(1)(b) to (h). 4 Amendment of s 4 (External senior examinations available) Section 4, ‘a school’— 2008 SL No. 93 Page 3

(2) Section 5(6), definition corresponding authority subject omit. (3) Section 5(6)— insert corresponding approved subject , for an examination subject, means the approved subject that is substantially the same as the examination subject.’. 6 Omission of pt 3, div 1 Part 3, division 1— omit. 7 Renumbering of pt 3, divs 2 and 3 Part 3, divisions 2 and 3— renumber as part 3, divisions 1 and 2. 8 Amendment of s 38E (Requirement to record credits for contributing studies in a person’s student account) Section 38E(2)(a), ‘an examination subject’— omit, insert— ‘an approved subject that is also an examination subject’. Education (Queensland Studies Authority) and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation(No. 1) 2008 Part 2 Amendment of Education (Queensland Studies Authority) Regulation 2002 [s 14] 14 Insertion of new s 76B After section 76A— insert— ‘76B Particular guidelines about tertiary entrance subjects to be available on authority’s website ‘(1) This section applies to a guideline mentioned in the definition tertiary entrance subject in schedule 2. ‘(2) The authority must ensure the guideline is available to be viewed, in full, by the public on the authority’s website. Editor’s note The authority’s website can be found on the internet at < ‘(3) This section does not limit section 76.’. 15 Amendment of s 80 (Tertiary entrance functions) Section 80— insert— ‘(2) However, the authority may make or amend a guideline mentioned in the definition tertiary entrance subject in schedule 2 only with the written approval of the Minister.’. 16 Insertion of new pt 12, div 4 After section 108— insert— ‘Division 4 Transitional provision for Education (Queensland Studies Authority) and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 ‘109 Authority subjects ‘(1) This section applies— Page 6 2008 SL No. 93
Education (Queensland Studies Authority) and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation(No. 1) 2008 Part 2 Amendment of Education (Queensland Studies Authority) Regulation 2002 [s 17] (a) if, on the commencement, a guideline mentioned in the definition tertiary entrance subject in schedule 2 has not been made; and (b) until the guideline is made. ‘(2) A school subject that, immediately before the commencement, was an authority subject is taken to be a tertiary entrance subject. ‘(3) In this section— authority subject has the meaning given in schedule 2 as it was in force immediately before the commencement. commencement means the commencement of this section.’. 17 Amendment of sch 2 (Dictionary) (1) Schedule 2, definitions authority registered subject , authority subject and examination subject omit. (2) Schedule 2— insert approved subject means a school subject for which there is an approved syllabus. examination subject means an approved subject for which an external senior examination is available under section 4. tertiary entrance subject means an approved subject stated in a guideline.’. (3) Schedule 2, definition appropriate entity , ‘authority’— omit, insert— ‘tertiary entrance’ .
