EDUCATION AMENDMENT REGULATIONS (NO. 5) 1993

Made by the Minister for Education.

Citation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Education Amendment

Regulations (No. 5) 1993.

Principal regulations

2. In these regulations the Education Act Regulations 1960* are referred to

as the principal regulations.

Heading to Division 4 of Part X deleted and substituted

3.   Part X of the principal regulations is amended by deleting the heading to

Division 4 and substituting the following heading —

Division 4— Awards and Assessment

Regulation 231 amended

4.   Regulation 231 of the principal regulations is amended —

(a) in subregulation (2) (b) by deleting "examinations" and

substituting the following —

assessment "; and
(b) by repealing subregulation (3) and substituting the following

subregulation —

(3) The Director, Technical and Further

Education on sufficient cause being shown may —

(a) exempt a student from any requirement
in a course of study —
(i) to attend class; or
(ii) to undergo the prescribed

assessment;

or

(b) allow a student to substitute for any

subject in a course of study, another

subject that, in the opinion of the Director, is appropriate.

Regulation 233 amended

5.   Regulation 233 of the principal regulations is amended —

(a) in subregulation (1) (b), by deleting "examinations" and

substituting the following

"; and

assessment

(b) in subregulation (2), by deleting "tests" and substituting the

following —

44 assessments
