Education Amendment Regulations 1998

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Education Act 1994 .14 December 1998

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Education Amendment Regulations 1998 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Education Regulations 1995 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 6 substituted Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following regulation is substituted: 6Proportional rate For the purposes of section 65(b) , the amount of a grant is determined by the following proportional rate:

(a) for kindergarten students –
(i) financial year 1998/1999	1:0.5
(ii) financial year 1999/2000	1:0.75
(iii) subsequent financial years	1:1
(b) for primary school students	1:1
(c) for secondary students (Years 7-10)	1:1.3
(d) for post compulsory education   students (after year 10)	1:1.75
