Education Amendment Regulation 2016

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Education Act 1990.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Education Regulation 2012:

(a)	as a consequence of the Education and Teaching Legislation Amendment Act 2016 (the amending
Act), which changed the name of the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards to the NSW Education Standards Authority, and
(b)	to repeal a provision relating to the publication and inspection of the rules made by the NSW
Education Standards Authority as those matters are dealt with under section 25 of the Education Standards Authority Act 2013 (as renamed by the amending Act).

This Regulation is made under the Education Act 1990, including section 130 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Education Amendment Regulation 2016.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 January 2017 and is required to be published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Education Regulation 2012

(1) Clause 9 Closure or cessation of operation of non-government schools

Omit “Board” wherever occurring in clause 9 (2) (a).

Insert instead “Authority”.

(2)	Clause 12 Publication of Board of Studies rules
Omit the clause.
