An Act to amend the Education Act 2004

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1. Name of Act

   This Act is the Education Amendment Act 2025.

2. Commencement

   This Act commences on the day after its notification day.

   NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

3. Legislation amended

   This Act amends the Education Act 2004.

4. New section 98 (4) and (5)

   insert

   (4)The Minister may approve a period of less than 60 days, but of at least 7 days, for subsection (3) (c) if satisfied it is reasonably necessary in the circumstances.

   (5)Subsection (4) and this subsection expire on 1 January 2026.
