AN ACT to amend the Education Act, 1928-1973.

[Assented to 9th December, 1974.1

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Education Short title

and citation.

2. The provisions of this Act shall come into operation on such date or dates as is or are, respect- ively, fixed by proclamation.

Section 3

amended.

3. Section 3 of the principal Act is amended

(a)

by deleting the interpretation "Government School" and substituting an interpreta- tion as follows

"Government school" means any pre- primary centre, primary school, secondary school, technical college, or technical school established or deemed to have been established by the Minister under this Act; ; and

(b)

by adding after the interpretation "Parent" an interpretation as follows

"school" means a Government or

efficient school; .

Section 11

amended.

4. Section 11 of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word "school" in line two, the words "or Government pre-primary centre".

Section 12

amended.

5. Section 12 of the principal Act is amended by

adding after the word "school", being the last word

in subsection (1), the words "or pre-primary centre".

Section 13

amended.

6. Section 13 of the principal Act is amended by adding after subsection (1) a subsection as fol- lows

(la) A Government pre-primary centre is not a Government school for the purposes of this section. .
