MENT) ACT.
Act No. 17, 1947.
An Act to extend the period during which Part VII of the Economic Stability and War-time Provisions Continuance Act, 1946, shall have effect; for this purpose to amend the said Act; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 30th September, 1947.]

(2) The Economic Stabi l i ty and War - t ime Prov i
sions Continuance Act, 1946, as amended by this Act, m a y be cited as the Economic Stabil i ty and War- t ime Provis ions Continuance Act, 1946-1947.
(3) This Act shall commence upon the th i r t ie th day of September , one thousand nine hundred and forty- seven.

2. The Economic Stabil i ty and War- t ime Provis ions Continuance Act, 1946, is amended—
(a)
by omitting from subsection two of section thir ty- two the words " W e d n e s d a y , the ninth day of Apri l , one thousand nine hundred and fo r ty - seven" and by inser t ing in lieu thereof the words " t h e Wednesday following E a s t e r Monday and the Wednesday following the first Monday in October in any year dur ing which
this P a r t of this Act is in f o r c e " ; (b)
by omitting subsection five of the same section and by inserting in lieu thereof the following subsection:—
(5) (a) This section shall remain in force until the thirty-first clay of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight:
Provided that the Governor may from time to time by regulation (which regulation the Governor is hereby empowered to make) extend the operation of this section for such period or periods as he may determine.
(b) Any such regulation shall—
(i) be published in the Gazette;
(ii) take effect from the date of publication or from a later date to be specified in such regulation;
(iii) be laid before both Houses of Parlia- ment within fourteen sitting days after publication if Parliament is in session and, if not, then within fourteen sitting days after the commencement of the next session.
If either House of Parliament passes a reso- lution of which notice has been given at any time within fifteen sitting days after such regulation has been laid before such House disallowing such regulation, such regulation shall thereupon cease to have effect.
