Brook—Northam Branch of the Eastern Railway.

HEREAS it is expedient to authorise the construction and Preamble

WBrook on the Eastern Railway to Northam : Be it enacted by Hismaintenance of a branch line of Railway from Spencer's

Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :-

1. This Act may be cited as ' The Eastern Railway, Spencer's Short title

Brook—Northam Branch Act, 1886.'

2. It shall be lawful to construct and maintain a Railway from 81",°,`„yeett,g,',',

Spencer's Brook, on the Eastern Railway, to Northam, with all neces- from Spencer's

with, in the line and upon the lands described in the Schedule to this

Act.

Description of Line of Railway front Spencer's Brook to Northam

The branch line from Spencer's Brook to Northam commences at a point on the Eastern Railway, in the Spencer's Brook Railway Station Yard, 71m. 'Polls. 971ks. from Fremantle, and situate about the North-east corner of Avon Location e 1; thence by a curve to the left of 30chs. rad., the chord of which bears 90° 29', for a distance of 18chs. 651ks. ; thence by a straight line bearing 72° 21', for 48chs. 221ks. down the centre of a cleared street in Brookton, crossing the river Avon, the centre of which is about 63chs. 501ks. from the starting point, crossing the east boundary of Avon Location e 1, and the west boundary of Avon Location m ; thence by a curve to the left of 14chs. rad., the chord of which bears 24° 18' 30", for 20chs. 821ks ; thence by a straight line bearing 336° 16', for 16chs. 901ks.; thence by a curve to the right of GOchs. rad., the chord of which bears 344° 37' 30", for 17chs. 441ks.; thence by a straight line bearing 352° 59', for G3chs. 21ks., crossing the north boundary of Avon Location m, and the south boundary of Avon Location 39, at 2m. 18chs. 591ks. from starting point ; thence by a curve to the left of 40chs. rad., the chord of which bears 340° 19' 30", fox 17chs. 531ks., cross- ing a brush fence at 2m. 35chs. 1511m., across a cultivated field, crossing fence at 2m. 60chs. 571ks., across a kitchen garden, and crossing the north boundary of Avon Location 39, and the south boundary of Avon Location Pat 2m. 72chs. 421ks. ; thence by a curve to the left of 160chs. rad., the chord of which bears 326° 03' 30", for 8chs. 961ks.; thence by a straight line bearing 324° 27', for 44chs.
