All Act to amend the Ear ly Closing Acts and the Saturday Half Holiday Act, 1910; and for purposes consequent thereon. [20th December, 1910.]

1 . This A c t may be cited as the " Ear ly Closing Amendmen t

Act , 1910."

2 . N o t w i t h s t a n d i n g a n y t h i n g contained in the Ea r ly Closing

Ac t , 1899, t h e Ea r ly Closing (Amendmen t ) Act , 1900, or the Ear ly Closing (Hairdressers ' Shops) Act , 190n, t h e closing t ime for all b u t c h e r s ' , poul terers ' , and hairdressers ' shops s i tua te wi th in a coun t ry shopping district in which the one o'clock closing day for non- scheduled shops is Sa turday shall in each week b e —

one o'clock in the afternoon of Wednesday ;

ten o'clock in the even ing of Sa turday ;

six o'clock in t he even ing for bu tche r s ' and poul te re rs ' and half-

past seven in t he evening for hairdressers ' shops on the four

o ther week days.

Al l such shops shal l close on those days no t la ter t h a n the
hours above ment ioned : Provided t h a t no th ing in t he above provision

shal l affect the operat ion of section e ight of the Ear ly Closing

( A m e n d m e n t ) Act , 1900.

3 . Section live of t he Ear ly Closing ( A m e n d m e n t ) Act , 1900,

is a m e n d e d —

(a) by subs t i tu t ing the word " four " for " five " ;

(b) by inserting before the word " Saturday " the words " Friday and ".

4 . Section e ight of the Ear ly Closing ( A m e n d m e n t ) Act, 1900,

is amended by inser t ing after t he words " s u c h shop m a y " where secondly occur r ing the words " subject to the provisions of the n e x t

following p a r a g r a p h . "

5 . Section seven of the Ea r ly Closing Act , 1S99, is amended

by omi t t i ng the words " this pa r t " and subs t i tu t ing therefor the words

" this A c t or any Ac t a m e n d i n g the s a m e . "

6 . The Schedule to the Sa tu rday Half Hol iday Act , 1910, is

amended by the addi t ion there to of t he words " Pou l t e re r s ' shops ."

7 .     Section e ight of the E a r l y Closing (Amendmen t ) Act , 1900,

is amended by inse r t ing after the first pa rag raph the following words : — " W h e n Chr is tmas Day falls on a Sunday or Monday any shop which usua l ly closes a t one o'clock on Sa tu rday may r ema in open t i l l t en o'clock on the Sa turday preceding such Chr i s tmas Day : Provided t h a t such shop is closed a t six o'clock on Friday, and one o'clock on Wednesday in t he preceding week, and the shop assistants are not employed after those hours , and is also closed and kep t closed, a n d t h e shop assis tants are no t employed there in , on t he Monday and

Tuesday n e x t following the twen ty - four th of December . "
