DUGHETTI
v
THE QUEEN
[2021] HCASL 87
M118/2020
A substantial extension of time is required to enable this application for special leave to appeal to proceed. The foreshadowed appeal would concern whether the applicant's sentence was manifestly excessive, and would not turn on the resolution of an issue of principle of general importance. The interests of the due administration of justice are not engaged in the circumstances of this case. The application for special leave should be refused. That being so, it would be futile to grant an extension of time.
Pursuant to r 41.08.1 of the High Court Rules 2004 (Cth), we direct the Registrar to draw up, sign and seal an order dismissing the application.
