Editorial changes
The Legislation Act 2001, part 11.3 authorises the Parliamentary Counsel to make editorial amendments and other changes of a formal nature when preparing a law for republication. Editorial changes do not change the effect of the law, but have effect as if they had been made by an Act commencing on the republication date (see Legislation Act 2001, s 115 and s 117). The changes are made if the Parliamentary Counsel considers they are desirable to bring the law into line, or more closely into line, with current legislative drafting practice.
This republication does not include amendments made under part 11.3 (see endnote 1).
Uncommenced provisions and amendments

Drugs of dependence—Act, s 3 (1), def drug of dependence
Each of the following substances is a drug of dependence for the Act (other than part 2):
(a)a substance mentioned in the Criminal Code Regulation 2005, schedule 1 (Controlled drugs), part 1.1 (Drugs of dependence);
(b)an associated drug (within the meaning of that regulation, section 5 (2)) of a substance mentioned in that part;
(c)a related drug (within the meaning of that regulation, section 5 (3)) of a substance mentioned in that part.
Prohibited substances—Act, s 3 (1), def prohibited substance
Each of the following substances is a prohibited substance:
(a)a substance mentioned in the Criminal Code Regulation 2005, schedule 1 (Controlled drugs), part 1.2 (Prohibited substances);
(b)an associated drug (within the meaning of that regulation, section 5 (2)) of a substance mentioned in that part;
(c)a related drug (within the meaning of that regulation, section 5 (3)) of a substance mentioned in that part.
Drugs of dependence—Act, s 4, def drug of dependence
A substance mentioned in schedule 1 is a drug of dependence for the Act, part 2 (Manufacture).
