Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend Schedule 1 to the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985. Schedule 1 lists plants and drugs that are prohibited for the purposes of the Act. The proposed amendments remove a substance that is listed under 2 different names and make it clear that the substance known as 4-Methoxyamphetamine is the same as the substance known as Paramethoxyamphetamine.
This Regulation is made under the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985, including sections 44 and 45 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Amendment
(Prohibited Drug) Regulation 2009.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.
3 Amendment of Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 No 226
(1) Schedule 1
Insert “(also known as Paramethoxyamphetamine)” after “4-Methoxyamphetamine”.
(2) Schedule 1 Omit all the matter relating to Paramethoxyamphetamine.
