DRUG MISUSE AND TRAFFICKING ACT 1985 - REGULATION

(Amending the Schedule of prohibited plants or drugs)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 3 June 1990.

Amendments

2. Schedule 1 to the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 is

amended:

(a)

by deleting the word "Fenetylline" and by inserting instead the word "Fenethylline"; and

(b) by inserting in alphabetical order the following matter:

N-acetylamphetamine 3.0g 1.0g 5.0g 250.0g 1.0kg
N-acetylmethylamphetamine 3.0g 1.0g 5.0g 250.0g 1.0kg
N-formylamphetamine 3.0g 1.0g 5.0g 250.0g 1.0kg
N-formylmethylamphetamine 3.0g 1.0g 5.0g 258.0g 1.0kg

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act

1985 so as:

(a) to add to the Schedule of prohibited plants or drugs certain substances found as intermediate products in the manufacture of amphetamine and methylamphetamine; and
(b) to substitute the preferred form of spelling for a substance already appearing in the Schedule.
