MARIE BASHIR, AO, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 36A of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 May 2001 as the day on which the trial period referred to in subsection (1) of that section commences.

Explanatory note
The object of this proclamation is provide for the date of commencement of a trial period (of 18 months duration) for the operation of a licence to use certain premises as a medically supervised injecting centre for the self-administration of prohibited drugs.

This proclamation is made under section 36A (1) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985.
