Act No. 39,1982.

An Act to amend the Dried Fruits Act, 1939, to increase the maximum amount of the contributions payable under that Act and to increase the penalties for offences under that Act. [Assented to 5th May, 1982.]

Dried Fruits (Amendment).

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1.     This Act may be cited as the "Dried Fruits (Amendment) Act, 1982".

Schedules.

2.      This Act contains the following Schedules:—

SCHEDULE 1.—AMENDMENT TO THE DRIED FRUITS ACT, 1939,

RELATING TO CONTRIBUTIONS.

SCHEDULE 2.—AMENDMENTS TO THE DRIED FRUITS ACT, 1939,

RELATING TO PENALTIES.

Amendment of Act No. 7, 1939.

3.      The Dried Fruits Act, 1939, is amended in the manner set forth in

Schedules 1 and 2.

SCHEDULE 1.

(Sec. 3.)

AMENDMENT TO THE DRIED FRUITS ACT, 1939, RELATING TO

CONTRIBUTIONS.

Section 15 (4 )—

Omit "four dollars", insert instead "$10 (or, where some other amount is prescribed, that other amount)".

SCHEDULE 2.

(Sec. 3.)

AMENDMENTS TO THE DRIED FRUITS ACT, 1939, RELATING TO PENALTIES.

(1) (a) Section 23 (2 )—

Omit "two hundred dollars", insert instead "$2,000".

(b) Section 23 (2)—

Omit "and to an additional penalty of twenty dollars for every day on which the premises are or the place is used or occupied in contravention of this section".

(2) Section 27 (2 )—

Omit "one hundred dollars", insert instead "$500".

(3) Sections 32 (3), 35 (1 )—
