Domestic Animals Amendment Regulations 2013

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are to amend the Domestic Animals Regulations 2005—

(a)to prescribe a collar for restricted breed dogs; and

(b)to make minor miscellaneous amendments.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 100 of the Domestic Animals Act 1994.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Domestic Animals Regulations 2005[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Authorising provision

In regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations, for "Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Act 1994" substitute "Domestic Animals Act 1994".

5Definitions

In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, for the definition of the Act substitute—

"the Act means the Domestic Animals Act 1994;".

6Collars for dangerous dogs

(1)For the heading to regulation 10 of the Principal Regulations substitute—

Collars for dangerous dogs and restricted breed dogs"".

(2)In regulation 10(1) of the Principal Regulations, after "section 40" insert "and section 41HA".

(3)In regulation 10(2) of the Principal Regulations, after "a dangerous dog" insert "or a restricted breed dog".

7Application fee for review of decision to declare dog a restricted breed dog

Regulation 48 of the Principal Regulations is revoked.
