Dog Control (Amendment) Ordinance 1983

An Ordinance to amend the Dog Control Ordinance 1975

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Dog Control (Amendment)

Ordinance 1983}

Principal Ordinance

Ordinance 1975.1 2. In this Ordinance, "Principal Ordinance" means the Dog Control

Interpretation

"prescribed fee".

3. Section 5 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by adding at the end

thereof the following sub-section:

"(3) A reference in a provision of this Ordinance to a prescribed fee shall be read as a reference to the fee determined under section 40A for the purposes of that provision.".

Application for registration of dog

4. Section 9 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting sub-section

(3).

Registration
5. Section 10 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from
sub-section (3) "fee prescribed by sub-section 9 (3)" and substituting

Change of address to be notified

6. Section 15 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from

paragraph (3) (b) "a fee of $ 1" and substituting "the prescribed fee".

Replacement of lost, &c, certificate or tag

7. Section 18 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting "a fee of

50 cents" and substituting "the prescribed fee".

Return of impounded dogs

8. Section 30 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting

sub-section (2).

Certified copy of certificate of registration

9. Section 36 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)

by omitting from sub-section (2) "a fee of 50 cents" and substituting "the prescribed fee"; and

(b)

by inserting in sub-section (3) "prescribed" after "application and the".

Inspection of register

10. Section 38 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting "a fee of

50 cents" and substituting "the prescribed fee".

11. After section 40 of the Principal Ordinance the following section is

inserted:

Power of Minister to determine fees

"40A. The Minister may, by notice in writing published in the Gazette,

determine fees for the purposes of this Ordinance.".
