Districts (Amendment) Act 1992

An Act to amend the Districts Act 1966

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

Short title

1.  This Act may be cited as the Districts (Amendment) Act 1992.

Commencement

2.  (1)  Sections 1, 2 and 3 commence on the day on which this Act is notified in the Gazette.

(2) The remaining provisions commence on the day on which the provisions referred to in subsection 2 (2) of the Surveyors (Amendment) Act 1992 commence.

Principal Act

3.  In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Districts Act 1966.1

Deposited plans

4.  Section 7 of the Principal Act is amended—

(a)by omitting from subsection (3) “Commonwealth Surveyor‑General” and substituting “Chief Surveyor”; and

(b)by adding at the end the following subsection:

“(8)  In subsection (3)—

‘Chief Surveyor’ means the Chief Surveyor appointed under the Surveyors Act 1967.”.
