DISTRICT COURTS (AMENDMENT) ACT.
Act No. 19, 1951.
An Act to increase the salaries of the Chairman of the District Court Judges and the Judges of the District Courts; for this purpose to amend the District Courts Act, 1912-1949, and the Statutory Salaries Adjustment Act, 1948; to validate certain matters; and for purposes connected there- with. | Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— | |
| 1 . (1) This Act may be cited as the "District Courts (Amendment) Act, 1951." | |
| (2) The District Courts Act, 1912, as amended by subsequent Acts and by this Act, may be cited as the District Courts Act, 1912-1951. | |
| (3) This Act shall be deemed to have commenced on the twentieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred | |

2 . (1) The Statutory Salaries Adjustment Act, 1948,
is amended—
(a)
by omitting from the first column of the Schedule the words " Judge of the District Cour t " ;
(b)
by omitting from the second column of the Schedule the words "Section eighteen of the District Courts Act, 1912-1947."
(2) The District Courts Act, 1912, as amended by
subsequent Acts, is amended—
(a) by omitting from subsection one of section eighteen the words "one thousand five hundred pounds" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words " two thousand pounds" ; (b) by inserting after the same subsection the following new subsection:— ( IA) In the application of subsection one of this section to the Chairman of the District Court Judges, that subsection shall be construed as if the words " two thousand pounds" were omitted there- from, and the words " two thousand two hundred and fifty pounds" inserted in lieu thereof.
