DISTRICT COURT ACT 1973—RULE

NEW SOUTH WALES

[Published in Gazette No. 82 of 23 July 1993]

1. This rule is made by the Rule Committee on 19th May, 1993 and has

effect on and from 23rd July, 1993.

2. The District Court Rules 1973 are amended by inserting in Part 19A rule 9 (6) after the words “basis, and” the words “, unless the Court otherwise orders,”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of the amendment is to make it clear that, in respect of an offer of compromise that has been rejected by a plaintiff, the costs entitlements of both the plaintiff and the defendant are subject to the Court’s discretion.
