The District Court Rule Committee made the following rule of court under the District Court Act 1973 on 10 December 1998.

Explanatory note
The object of this Rule is to amend Part 9, rule 27 of the District Court Rules
1973 to ensure that the obligation to serve particulars and supporting reports
under that rule in relation to claims for damages in respect of personal injuries does not extend to proceedings in which such a claim is accompanied by a notice of motion seeking a separate trial on the issue of liability or seeking to place the action in the not ready list.

Omit rule 27 (1). Insert instead:
(1) This Rule applies to proceedings in which a claim is made for damages in respect of personal injuries other than a claim that is accompanied by a notice of motion seeking a separate trial on the issue of liability or notice of motion to place the action in the not ready list.
