His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the District Court Act 1973

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to include in the fees to be taken in respect of the business of the District Court a levy of 3% on amounts collected by the Sheriff pursuant to writs of execution issued by the District Court. This Regulation (together with a Regulation in respect of Local Court fees) will impose the same levy as the levy presently imposed on amounts collected pursuant to writs issued by the Supreme Court.

This Regulation is made under the District Court Act 1973, including section

150 (Regulations: Court fees).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the District Court (Fees) Amendment (Levy on

Writs of Execution) Regulation 1996.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 August 1996.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

1. Amendment of District Court (Fees) Regulation 1993

   The District Court (Fees) Regulation 1993 is amended by inserting in Schedule 1 after item 9 the following item:
