An Act to further amend " The District Councils Act,

1876."

HEREAS it is desirable to amend " The District Councils Act, Preamble.

1876"-BA it therefore Enacted by the Governor of the Province of South Australia, with thc advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the said province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows:

1, This Act may be cited as " The nistrict Councils Further Short title and Amendment Act, 1885," and shall bc read and construed together boO~Or'tiOn. with '' The District Councils Act, 1876."

tion of any ratepayer of the district, do every act necessary for the carrying out of an electio~ to elect councillors in the place of the councillors whose offices shall so have become vacant, including the appointment of a.day of nomination and of a returning officer.

3. The nomination for such election shall take place seven days M O ~ @ of procedure of

with respect to the election of councillors; and every person so elected shall hold office until the time at which the councillor in room of whom he was chosen would regularly have gone out of office, when he shall go out of ofice, but be eligible for re-election.
