REGULATION UNDER THE DISTILLATION ACT 1901-1923.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, do hereby make the following Regulation under the Distillation Act 1901-1923, to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of Distillation Regulations 1913.

(Statutory Rules 1913, No. 343, as amended to this date.)

Regulation 31 of the Distillation Regulations is amended by the addition of the following:—

(a) All Doradillo grapes received by a distiller for distillation purposes shall be weighed in the presence of on officer. The crushing of the grapes and fermentation of the juice and distilling operations shall take place under the supervision of an officer.

(b) The distiller shall give at least two hours’ notice when be requires the presence of an officer to supervise the weighing of Doradillo grapes.

(c) When the conveyance of the juice from Doradillo grapes to a fermenting vat has been completed, the officer shall take a full account of the contents of the vat and shall satisfy himself that such contents consist wholly of the juice of Doradillo grapes.

(d) The distiller shall give immediate notice of the completion of the conveyance of the Doradillo juice to a fermenting vat.

(e) The distiller shall keep a book in which the following particulars as regards Doradillo grapes shall be entered on the day of the transaction—

(1) Date of purchase.

(2) Weight purchased.

(3) The price per ton paid.

(4) The name and address of the person from whom purchased.

(f) When the distiller wishes to remove Doradillo wine from the fermenting vat to a storage vat or from a storage vat to a wine charger he shall in each case, give at least two hours’ notice so that the officer may take an account of the wine in the fermenting vat or in any storage vat. All vessels in which the wine is stored shall be marked for identification.
