An Act to amend The Distillation Act, 1871.'

[Assented to 16th September, 1881.

HEREAS it is expedient to amend ' The Distillation Act, 1871,'

Wtesting the strength of Colonial Wines : Be it therefore enacted byand to allow the use of Stills employed for the purpose of

His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependen- cies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :-

1. It shall be lawful for the collector of Revenue to grant, if he shall think fit, to any person applying for the same, a license to keep and use a still of not exceeding one pint in capacity for the purpose of testing the strength of Colonial made wines ; and every license so granted shall specify the purpose for which it shall have been granted, and the premises on which such still shall be used ; and the person applying for such license shall, before the same shall be granted, enter into a recognizance to Her Majesty in the sum of Fifty pounds, conditioned that the person named in such license will not use such still, or suffer the same to be made use of, for any other purpose or purposes, or in any other locality, house, or premises, than that which shall be specified in such license.

2. This Act shall be read and construed together with ' The Distillation Act, 1871.'
