Discrimination (Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations1 (Amendment)

The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following Regulations under the Discrimination Act 1991.

Commencement

1.  These Regulations commence on the day on which they are notified in the Gazette.

Principal Regulations

2.  In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Discrimination (Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations.

Substitution

3.  Regulations 3, 4 and 5 of the Principal Regulations are repealed and the following regulations substituted:

Remuneration of the Commissioner

“3.  The Commissioner is entitled to remuneration at the rate of $40,000 per year.

Travelling allowance

“4.  (1)  Where, to attend a meeting or otherwise in the performance of functions under the Act, it is necessary for the Commissioner to travel to or from the Territory, he or she is entitled to be paid a travelling allowance in respect of that travel.

“(2)  Travelling allowance payable under subsection (1)—

(a)is the same as the travelling allowance payable to a public servant having a classification of Senior Executive Service Officer; and

(b)is in addition to, and does not include, the cost of conveyance.”.
