DISABILITY SERVICES ACT 1993—REGULATION

(Relating to eligible organisations)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Disability Services Act 1993, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Disability Services Regulation 1993 is amended by omitting

clause 4.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Disability Services Act 1993 provides for the granting of financial assistance to eligible organisations. Section 4 of the Act defines “eligible organisation” so as to include societies, associations and bodies prescribed by the regulations.

The object of this Regulation is to exclude from the definition of “eligible organisation” certain societies, associations and bodies which were previously included in that definition by virtue of clause 4 of the Disability Services Regulation 1993.

This Regulation is made under the Disability Services Act 1993, including

section 26 (the general regulation making power) and section 4.
