DIRECTION UNDER SECTION 32, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT 1997

Context:           

On 28 June 2007, the Workplace Relations Amendment (A Stronger Safety Net) Act 2007 received royal assent, creating the Office of the Workplace Ombudsman (OWO) effective 1 July 2007.  The OWO will take over the compliance functions of the Office of Workplace Services and have extra responsibility for investigations and prosecutions in relation to the Fairness Test and cases involving duress to an employee by the employer when negotiating an Australian Workplace.  This instrument commences on date of registration, effective on 2 July 2007.

I, Brett Kaufmann, Acting Division Manager, Financial Reporting and Cash Management Division, Department of Finance and Administration, sub-delegate of the Minister for Finance and Administration under the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 (‘the FMA Act’), issue the following direction under section 32 of the FMA Act:

That the appropriation items listed in column 1 of the following table in the amounts listed in column 4 be transferred from the 'old agency' listed in column 2 to the 'new agency' listed in column 3.
