I, Lindsay Tanner, Minister for Finance and Deregulation, make this determination under subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2009-2010, subsection 9(1) of Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2007-2008 and subsection 10(2) of Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2008-2009.

Part 1 Preliminary
Name of Determination
This Determination is the Determination to Amend Reduction of Appropriations Upon Request (No. 1 of 2009-2010).
Commencement
This Determination commences on the date of signing.
3 Purpose of this Determination
The purpose of this Determination is to:
(a)revoke Determination to Reduce Appropriations Upon Request (No. 5 of 2009‑2010); and
(b)reduce departmental items in Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2007-2008 and Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2008-2009.
The Legislative Authority under which this Determination is made
(a)Subsection 10(2) of annual Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2009-2010, together with section 33(3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, enables the Minister for Finance and Deregulation to revoke a previous Determination that reduced a departmental item of an agency in that Appropriation Act.
(b)Subsection 9(1) of annual Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2007-2008 and subsection 10(2) of annual Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2008-2009 enable the Minister for Finance and Deregulation to make a Determination to reduce a departmental item in those Appropriation Acts for an agency by the amount specified in the Determination, upon receipt of a written request from the Minister responsible for that agency.
5 Notes
The Schedules to this Determination contain tables that identify:
(a)the affected agency in column 1;
(b)the Appropriation Act and appropriation item that will be reduced in column 2;
(c)the source of legislative authority to make the reduction in column 3;
(d)the responsible Minister who requested the reduction in column 4; and
(e)the amount that the particular appropriation item is reduced in column 5.
This Determination refers to the portfolio and agency in the Appropriation Acts under which the reductions are made. The titles of these portfolios or agencies may have subsequently changed by, for example, machinery of government changes.
Part 2 Revocation and reduction
Revocation of Determination to Reduce Appropriations Upon Request (No. 5 of 2009-2010) made under Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2009-2010
Determination to Reduce Appropriations Upon Request (No. 5 of 2009-2010) is revoked.
Reduction of a departmental item in Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2008-2009
The departmental item for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet appropriated by Schedule 1 of Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2008-2009 is reduced by the amount in Schedule 1 of this Determination.
Reduction of a departmental item in Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2007-2008
The departmental item for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet appropriated by Schedule 1 of Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2007-2008 is reduced by the amount in Schedule 2 of this Determination.
