Operation of a B-double on the routes specified in paragraph 3(i) is subject to any conditions set out in the publication so far as those conditions are not inconsistent with the Act, the Interstate Road Transport ChargeAct 1985, the Interstate Road Transport Charge Regulations2009 and the Interstate Road Transport Regulations 1986.

NOTE 1:  OPERATING IN THE NORTHERN TERRITORY

Subregulation 79(1) of the Northern Territory (NT) Traffic Regulations provides that each road and public place in the NT is a road train area.  Access is restricted where necessary through signage in urban areas and a road train map is available from the NT for further guidance.  On other parts of the network access is restricted through weight restrictions relating to infrastructure (eg. bridges) and seasonal conditions.

NOTE 2: B-doubles registered under the Federal Interstate Registration Scheme are also permitted to operate on a route that is authorised under a relevant instrument made under state and territory legislation. See subregulation 12C(6) and Schedule 4A of the Interstate Road Transport Regulations 1986.
