DETERMINATION OF PATIENT CONTRIBUTION

UNDER SUB-SECTION 3(1)

(HIB 15/2006)

I, LINDA JANE ADDISON, delegate of the Minister for Health and Ageing, pursuant to the powers in paragraphs (b) of the definition of 'patient contribution' in sub-section 3(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973 (the Act):

1. REVOKE all previous determinations made under paragraphs (b) of the definition of ‘patient contribution’ in sub-section 3(1) of the Act in respect of recognized hospitals in Western Australia; and

1. DETERMINE for the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of ‘patient contribution’ in sub-section 3(1) of the Act, that the amount of patient contribution shall be $36.40 per day in respect of recognized hospitals in Western Australia effective the day after the date this determination is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
