DETERMINATION No. 109

COMMONWEALTH NORTHERN PRAWN FISHERY DAILY FISHING LOG

I, Geoff Richardson, Executive Manager Fisheries, of the Australian Fisheries Management Authority, as delegate make the following determination under subsection 42(1) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991.

Citation

  1. This determination may be cited as Determination No. 109.

Commencement

  1. This determination commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.

Interpretation

  1. In this determination:

“Northern Prawn Fishery” means all commercial fishing under a concession defined in Schedule 1 (subsection (3)1) of the Northern Prawn Fishery Management Plan 1995.”

“distinguishing mark” in relation to a form of logbook, means the letter, number or symbol by which the logbook can be distinguished from other logbooks;

“NP15 Daily Fishing Log-book” means the form of logbook published by AFMA in March 2007 which provides for daily catch entries and for which:

(a)the title is Northern and Torres Strait Prawn Fisheries Daily Fishing Log; and

(b)the distinguishing mark is “NP15”

[Note: Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meanings in this determination.]

Determination

  1. That the Northern and Torres Strait Prawn Fisheries Daily Log (NP15) (at Attachment A) must be used to record information about the taking of prawns for concession holders in the Northern Prawn Fishery.

  1. That the Northern and Torres Strait Prawn Fisheries Daily Log (NP15) be the form and content of logbooks for concession holders in the Northern Prawn Fishery from the commencement of this determination.
